Big Box Farms is creating a revolution in the salad aisle by delivering locally grown lettuce by way of a unique indoor system installed in unused urban warehouses. As a start-up focused on improving local, environmental and food quality issues, trust and transparency are paramount and Big Box Farms and their consumer brand Homegrown strive to open consumers eyes to the truth behind their food sources.

Makewell worked to create the identities for both of their companies, Big Box Farms being the parent brand geared toward investors and wholesalers, and Homegrown targeting everyday consumers in the grocery store. Our design solutions reflect and speak to the two separate target audiences respectively. Homegrown in particular was designed to exude a personality and local feel that reinforces the new type of relationship they create with the consumer by emphasizing the local accessibility of the product and the connection of the brand to a specific place.
